Graduation Caps

In twenty years, I’ll be thirty-six. At that time, I see myself as a successful psychiatrist specializing in children with autoimmune disorders (people often become depressed and get “burn-out" about their conditions and aren't enough people who know enough about these diseases to actually help). I’m planning to study psychology in college with a biology minor. This will help me fulfill my pre-med requirements so that I can attend medical school and earn a degree in psychiatry. I plan to learn the therapy aspect of treatment before completing my residency in San Diego in a clinic set up to help Type 1 Diabetics (one autoimmune disorder).

In twenty years hope to be living in the country somewhere near the coast in California, Oregon, or Washington with a spouse or long-term partner. I plan to rely on my salary (approximately $230,000 for the states I want to live in) to pay of medical school debts and to save up to build my own house and at thirty-six I’ll probably be saving up for that dream. I want a couple of kids (not too many, but more than one so that they can have siblings) and I’d eventually like to foster kids. I want a lot of animals: at least one dog, cat, and horse, but hopefully chickens and a cow at some point. I’d also like to be one of those people who takes in old animals and cares for them until they pass away. I plan to live near enough to my parents that we can visit often and I’d like a support network from my family.

About Me

Katie Kovach is a 17 year old senior who enjoys reading, photography, and riding horses. Her favorite subjects are math, science, and psychology and she hopes to become a psychiatrist in the coming years. She eventually plans to live in the country with her family and a bunch of animals. She is so grateful for her wonderful years at ACLC, and is ready for the next chapter of her life to start.
